Scott Sutherland End of Year Show 2024 presents visions for a sustainable future

A new flood defence institute for Stonehaven, regeneration proposals to revitalise Aberdeen鈥檚 harbour area and visionary ideas to redevelop sites across the North East, are among some of the show-stopping projects featuring at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture End of Year Show.

From 2 May, visitors can visit the Scott Sutherland School, based in the Sir Ian Wood Building at 亚博体育官网鈥檚 Garthdee campus, to see a collection of exciting designs, hand drawings, computer aided designs and 3D models from talented undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Scott Sutherland School will be transformed into a creative hub at this popular annual end-of-year event, with architecture and architectural technology students from the BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology course, BSc Architecture / Masters of Architecture (MArch), BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management and the MSc Advanced Architectural Design showcasing their ideas.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the exhibition to see an innovative collection of projects, with many offering new visions to support the North East鈥檚 transition to a net zero future and ideas to develop Orkney and the Western Isles.

Dean of the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment, Professor Peter Exley, said: 鈥淥ur End of Year Show gives serious insight into the future, illustrating resilient places and spaces that benefit the public, civic, and commercial partners. At the opening, you can engage with future professionals about sustainable visions that you, your company, and your city can adopt as we collectively create an accessible, sustainable, and inclusive world.

The event will bring together the Scott Sutherland School community and industry experts from Architecture and the Built Environment sector. It will also include student discussions, a prize-giving celebration and networking opportunities.

The exhibition opens at 16:00 - 18:00 on 2 May and is free to attend. All members of the public are welcome. Visitors should register their car details with the main reception upon arrival.
