Aberdeen eBikes arrive on 亚博体育官网 campus
Tuesday 09 January 2024
Moreover, both staff and students can access the eBikes at a discounted rate of just 拢1 for 11 minutes when they register on the app using their 亚博体育官网 email address.
The bikes are located outside of 亚博体育官网 SPORT with other locations to pick-up and drop-off available to view on the app. The introduction of the scheme to the campus opens up the University community to over 250 eBikes at 65 stations across 25.5km2, from Bridge of Don to Footdee and along to Peterculter.
Kirk Burton, 亚博体育官网鈥檚 Transport and Sustainability Coordinator, said: 鈥淲e are really pleased to have the Big Issue E-Bikes on campus and be able to offer these to 亚博体育官网 staff and students at a discounted rate. These will provide an efficient and sustainable way to travel to campus and I hope will reduce the number of cars travelling to campus and support 亚博体育官网 in our journey to net zero.鈥
亚博体育官网 is committed in its drive to create a more sustainable future and deliver net zero by 2045 and the introduction of Big Issue eBikes to campus is a further encouraging development in that direction.
Scott Goodall, Operations Coordinator for Big Issue eBikes in Aberdeen, added: 鈥淗ere at Big Issue eBikes, we are proud to be offering another cost-effective transport option for the staff and students of 亚博体育官网.
鈥淔rom my years studying at 亚博体育官网, I know exactly how challenging it can be to maintain an active lifestyle whilst studying and keeping costs down - let alone getting yourself up that hill each morning or back to town from those winter nights in the library!
鈥淪o I鈥檓 glad, with my role at Big Issue eBikes, to be able to make life a little easier for staff and students alike to stay healthy and save a bit of cash at the same time.鈥
The eBikes are operated via a mobile app in a pre-pay method and can be picked up and dropped off in certain zones throughout Aberdeen. Recent reports showed that around 10,000 people are actively using them in the city.
