Finn Stevenson Robb - BA (Hons) International Business Management
Finn Stevenson Robb, from Banchory in Aberdeenshire, studied BA (Hons) International Business Management at 亚博体育官网 having taken notice of the impressive employability record from Aberdeen Business School and the option of both studying abroad and undertaking a work placement.
His older brother, Harris, had also graduated in the same course and has subsequently gone on to achieve great things, something that only helped to cement Finn鈥檚 future plans.
鈥淚 felt as though it was the best route to gain the knowledge I needed to eventually enter the work place. I also believed getting a degree would help me get though the front door when applying for jobs.
鈥淎lso hearing 亚博体育官网 had a 97% employment rate post-graduation encouraged me that it was the right establishment to enrol in.鈥�
Having suffered with Dyslexia throughout school, Finn lent on the assistance available to him at the University in order to attempt to enhance his learning.
鈥淚 received support from the Inclusion Centre because I am Dyslexic and with their support my grades since joining 亚博体育官网 compared to what I was achieving at school improved significantly.
鈥淭he skills I got from 亚博体育官网 became very apparent when I started my placement. The vocabulary and knowledge I have learnt allowed me to understand and navigate the work environment I entered.
During his degree Finn was the grateful recipient of the Cliff Murray Memorial Scholarship courtesy of . Their CEO, Barry Duncan, is an alumni of 亚博体育官网 and has helped to support many students in the past.
鈥淚 applied and won the scholarship with CNR for the year 2019/2020. The financial portion of the scholarship allowed me to purchase the course books and materials I needed, and I was able to work a summer placement before starting fourth year.
鈥淭his provided me with professional experience. CNR kept me on though fourth year and I am still working within their supply chain and commercial department now.鈥�
Finn didn鈥檛 only thrive on campus and in the workplace, but he also made the most of the other aspects of his degree by living in Netherlands for a portion of his second year to gain study abroad experience and 鈥渁n international perspective on business.鈥�
He still made time for the social side of university too鈥�
鈥淚 was also chuffed to have contributed to the creation of the 亚博体育官网 Paintball Society with two close friends and also represent 亚博体育官网 at kickboxing competitions where we competed in a fight night in Edinburgh. Both of these tasks helped to bolster my team working abilities.鈥�
Now that he鈥檚 crossed the stage and collected his scroll, Finn reflected fondly, yet humbly, on his efforts before teasing plans for the future.
鈥淚 am proud to have earned a first, I feel like my work has really paid off.
鈥淚 hope to continue working at CNR to gain more experience and I am working on a project with a childhood friend of which by next summer we are going to launch a business.鈥�
